Follow the Bird!

Contribute to the Follow the Bird Project!

Follow the Bird! offers many opportunities to get involved to support conservation of the key wetlands in the African-European Flyway for Purple Herons:

1. Serve as an eye on the ground - to improve our knowledge of the Purple Heron, their migration stops and local conservation needs

Contribute your observations of Purple Herons along the Flyway. We seek information on numbers of birds and condition of wetlands they use. Kindly send your observations to taej.mundkur@wetlands.org

2. Connect people to flyway issues and local stories - share your images and stories on a web collage

Contribute your photos, film clips and news items on the people and wetlands visited by Purple Herons. Kindly send your contributions to: sander.carpaij@wetlands.org

3. Strengthen local wetland and waterbird conservation awareness raising efforts at key wetlands for Purple Herons in Africa

Contribute to wetland and sustainable development-linked awareness raising and conservation efforts of local agencies and people. To learn more, kindly contact Taej.Mundkur@wetlands.org

4. Strengthen livelihood solutions for local people dependent on key wetlands for Purple Herons in West Africa
